Timothy Urness, assistant professor of computer science at Drake University, will wrap up Drake's fall Science Colloquium Series with a lecture on Friday, Nov. 6, on "Visualizing Scientific Data with Computer Graphics."

The free, public lecture will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in room 206 of Olin Hall, 1344 27th St.

Urness will discuss several projects that aim to interpret, evaluate and better understand scientific phenomena using techniques from computer graphics. He will highlight research projects that have been done at Drake, including molecular modeling, 3D visualization of images acquired from the Hubble space telescope and visualizing protein structures.
