SINGERS INVITED TO JOIN DRAKE/COMMUNITY CHORUS

The Drake University/Community Chorus, which is open to all interested singers without audition, will begin rehearsing for the fall semester on Tuesday, Aug. 24. Any interested singer is invited to join the choir by attending the first rehearsal, which will start at 6:30 p.m. in Monroe Recital Hall in the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25 th Street and Carpenter Avenue .

During the fall semester, the chorus will rehearse from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Tuesday under the direction of Aimee Beckmann-Collier, director of choral studies at Drake. The first performance is set for Nov. 14.

The ensemble provides members of the central Iowa musical community, as well as Drake students and staff, with the opportunity to sing masterworks, Beckmann-Collier said. For more information, call (515) 271-2841 or send an e-mail message to aimee.beckmann-collier@drake.edu.
