BRAINS, BIRTHDAY CAKE AND BULLDOGS: CELEBRATE DRAKE DAY AT THE FAIR AND DRAKE’S 125th ANNIVERSARY ON SATURDAY, AUG. 13

Brains will be flying, birthday cupcakes will be served and Bulldog blue and white will flood the Iowa State Fair Grounds during Drake University Day at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Drake will be giving away free brains – the foam stress ball kind rather than the kind that goes in your noggin – and tons of other knickknacks at their booth on Rock Island Avenue near Pella Plaza.

Visitors can have their picture taken at a variety of Drake scenes from running in the Relays to standing outside Old Main through the magic of a digital photo booth.

Bulldog athletes and coaches from all sports will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs.

The first 1,000 supporters to visit the Drake booth wearing Drake apparel will receive $1-off coupons good at any fair vendor.

Then at 4 p.m., join Drake VIPs for a special birthday party to celebrate the University’s 125th anniversary featuring a monster cake stretching nearly 6 feet into the sky and 3,000 free cupcakes for all Drake’s loyal supporters.
