I-235 PROJECT MANAGER TO SPEAK AT MARCH 2 LUNCHEON
Marty Sankey, manager of the I-235 expansion project for the Iowa Department of Transportation,
will be the featured speaker at a luncheon on Thursday, March 2, at the Younkers
Tea Room in downtown Des Moines. He will discuss the I-235 project and how it will
affect businesses, commuters and the community.
The luncheon, which is open to the public, is part of the Let's DU Lunch series sponsored
by Drake University's Central Iowa Alumni Chapter and the Greater Des Moines Chamber
of Commerce Federation.
The series includes two more luncheons this spring. Michael Gartner, majority owner
and chairman of Iowa Cubs Baseball, will speak on April 5. On May 3, Teresa Wahlert,
vice president-Iowa of US West, will discuss technology in 2000 and beyond.
All luncheons will begin at 11:30 a.m. with informal networking at the Younkers Tea
Room. The speeches will start at noon. The cost is $15 per person. For reservations
for the March 2 event, call the Drake Office of Alumni and Parent Programs at (515)
