DRAKE STUDENTS TO PRESENT "THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES"

The Drake University V-Day College Campaign will aims to raise awareness about violence against women by presenting benefit performances of "The Vagina Monologues" and sponsoring other educational programs.

Performances of "The Vagina Monologues" will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 13,14 and 15 in Bulldog Theater in Olmsted Center, 29th Street and University Avenue. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Drake’s Women's Studies program, Student Senate and the Deaf Women of Iowa Against Abuse. All performances will be interpreted for the hearing impaired.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for students. Proceeds will go to support the Asian Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. For tickets, call the Drake Fine Arts Box Office at (515) 271-3841.

Additional programs will include a women's forum at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the Upper Gallery of Olmsted Center and "Love Yourself," a Valentine'’s party that will follow the Saturday night performance of "The Vagina Monologues" in the ballroom of Morehouse Residence Hall, 1202 28th St.
