LAW PROF TO DISCUSS WARTIME RAPES IN BOSNIA

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Karen Engle, law professor at the University of Texas, will discuss “Feminisms and their Discontents: the Criminalization of Wartime Rapes in Bosnia.” The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will start at 7 p.m. in Drake University’s Bulldog Theater, in Olmsted Center, 29th Street and University Avenue.

Engle has written numerous articles and lectures in the areas of international law, human rights, cultural diversity and feminist theory. Her latest work is titled “Feminist Criminalizations of Rape in International Law.”

The event is sponsored by Drake’s Center for the Global Citizenship, Women’s Studies program and the Department of Culture and Society. For more information, call (515) 271-3843.
