SOLOIST CONTEST WINNER TO PERFORM WITH DRAKE SYMPHONY

Amanda Hardy, winner of this year's Drake Soloist Competition, will perform with the Drake Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 25th Street and University Avenue. Hardy, a native of Norwalk and a first-year student at Drake, will be the featured soloist in Mozart's Oboe Concerto in C major.

The orchestra, conducted by John Canarina, also will perform the melodic Symphony No. 2 in B minor by Borodin and the colorful Overture to the Creole “Faust” by 20th century Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera.
