DRAKE CHOIR TO DELIVER SINGING VALENTINES ON FEB. 13, 14

Talented vocalists from the Drake University Choir will serenade sweethearts with love songs and flowers at work, at home or at a restaurant on Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14.

The "True Romance" package will win hearts with a song and a single red rose for $25. The "Cupid's Favorite" package, which costs $35, includes a half dozen of the finest red roses.

Small groups of choir members will deliver singing valentines in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Clive, Johnston, Urbandale and Windsor Heights from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 13 and from10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb.14. They also will present singing valentines in Ankeny and Waukee from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 13 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 14.

Only 100 singing valentines can be delivered, so it's important to order by Monday, Feb. 9. Orders are being taken online at www.drake.edu/artsci/Music_Dept/valentines/ and by phone at (515) 271-2841 or (515) 271-3024.

Proceeds from the singing valentines will help support the Drake Choir’s European tour in May. "No University funds will be used for this tour, so your support is important and greatly appreciated," says Aimee Beckmann-Collier, director of choral activities at Drake.
