FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 29, 2000 CONTACT: Lisa Lacher, (515) 271-3119 DRAKE TO HOST JAZZ IN JULY CONCERT JULY 12 The Andy Classen All-Star Band will perform a free Jazz in July concert at Drake University on Wednesday, July 12. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the courtyard of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25th Street and Carpenter Avenue. The band, conducted by Andy Classen, Drake's director of jazz studies, will play a variety of standard jazz repertoire. Refreshments will be provided by the Drake Neighborhood Association. There also will be an information table sponsored by Friends of Drake Arts. The performance is part of the Metro Arts Alliance Jazz in July series and is sponsored by Friends of Drake Arts and the Drake Neighborhood Association. For more information, call (515) 271-3975.
