MISHA ROSENKER TO GIVE FACULTY RECITAL AT DRAKE

Violinist Misha Rosenker, who has been on a leave of absence from Drake University this year to teach at Baltimore's prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music, will return to Drake for a recital at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will start at 8 p.m. on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 25th Street and University Avenue.

The program includes Dvorak's Sonatina in G major, Brahms's Scherzo in C minor and Beethoven's Sonata No. 1 in D major.

Rosenker, assistant professor of violin at Drake, will be assisted by pianist Jonathan Korth, who will also be heard in solo works by Rachmaninoff. Korth, a native of Forest City, Iowa, is studying in the master's program at Peabody. He appeared as soloist with the Des Moines Symphony in 2001 as winner of the Des Moines Symphony Alliance Young Artist Competition.
