DRAKE PROF TO DISCUSS THE ROOTS OF CONFLICT BETWEEN THE MUSLIM WORLD AND THE WEST
Ismael Hossein-zadeh, professor of economics at Drake University, will discuss "The Muslim World and the West: The Roots of Conflict" at 3 p.m. Friday, April 2, in room 107 of Aliber Hall, 29th Street and University Avenue.
The talk, which is free and open to the public, is based on Hossein-zadeh's latest paper in which he analyzes what changed the Muslim world's historically receptive and respectful attitude toward the West to the current attitude of disrespect and hatred. The paper can be found at http://www.cbpa.drake.edu/hossein-zadeh/papers/MuslimWorld-West.htm.
Hossein-zadeh's speech is part of a research colloquium sponsored by Drake's College of Business and Public Administration. For more information, call (515) 271-2871.
