DRAKE THEATRE TO PRESENT 'PTERODACTYLS'
Drake University Theatre will present Nicky Silver's play, "Pterodactyls,"
at 8 p.m. Oct. 25-28 in Studio 55 of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25th Street and
Carpenter Avenue.
The play, which is for mature audiences only, is about the Duncan family, a clan
that gives new meaning to the word dysfunctional. In this absurdist black comedy,
Silver shows us how a decline in family values leads to the demise of the Duncans
and, metaphorically, today's society.
"Pterodactyls" received a glowing review in The New York Post that said
"There are times when a critic wishes he had never used the word 'brilliant'
before, so he could offer it fresh minded and glitteringly to something new. And
different."
Anthony Martinez, a senior from Albuquerque, N.M., who is majoring in music theatre,
directs Drake's production of "Pterodactyls."
Tickets are free with reservations. For reservations, call the Drake Fine Arts Box
Office at (515) 271-3841. |
