DRAKE THEATRE TO PRESENT 'VERONICA'S ROOM'
Drake University
Theatre will present "Veronica's
Room," a thriller
written by Ira Levin, who also penned the screenplays "Rosemary's Baby" and "The
Stepford Wives." Levin attended Drake from 1946 to 1948.
"
Veronica's Room" is a play in which fantasy and reality collide and all
are caught in a nightmare in which they cannot escape, said Director Deena
Conley, assistant professor of theatre arts at Drake. The play contains adult
language and situations. It is not recommended for young audiences.
Drake's production features four actors: Tim Larson, Dana DeRuyck, Zach
Williams and Laura Wiese. The set and lighting designer is John Holman,
assistant
professor of theatre arts. Josie Poppen, Drake's theatre costume designer,
designed the
costumes.
"
Veronica's Room" will open at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in Studio 55
of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25th Street and Carpenter Avenue. Additional
performances will start at
8 p.m. Sept. 26 and 27 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and non-Drake students
and free for Drake students with a Drake ID.
