DRAKE OFFERS NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR TRUMPET PLAYERS

The Drake University Community School of Music is offering a new instructional opportunity for trumpet players who want to study both the classical and jazz performance styles.

Lessons will last 30 or 45 minutes, depending on the student’s level and instructor’s assessment. As soon as the student has mastery of playing fundamentals, the individual will begin to learn easy jazz tunes. In addition, there will be instructional time devoted to the development of the intelligent listening skills that are necessary for both the successful jazz and classical performer.
