Faculty Profile:
Brad Meyer
Associate Professor of Management and International Business/Academic Fellow, Web-Assisted Curriculum.

Drake History: Meyer came to Drake in 1989 and has taught classes including Management of Operations, Planning and Control of Operations, Quantitative Methods in Business and Strategic Process Management.

Background: B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Iowa State University. "Traditional programs in industrial engineering are very similar to the business field of production/operations management," Meyer explains.
"It is not uncommon at all for a person like me to end up in a business school."

Professional Associations: The Academy of Management, the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science.

Research Interests: Operations entropy, continuous improvement techniques, history of operations management and the use of computers in education.

Notable Achievements: Burlington/Northern Award for Innovative Teaching and the College of Business and Public Administration Outstanding Graduate Teacher Award.

Off-the-Job Interests: His wife, seven children, songwriting and playing the guitar.

"My favorite part of teaching is devising ways to make the subject matter both clear and compelling to students."


Alumni Profile:
Jenni Fitzgerald, BN'90

Occupation: Director of basketball operations and assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.

Background: Received her master's degree in sports management at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Southern Illinois University and assistant basketball coach at Drake University for eight years.

Off-the-Job Interests: Biking, reading and movies.

Favorite Drake Class: "My first marketing class with Mary Edrington. She made the class very enjoyable and fun, yet at the same time you were learning new concepts and theories."

"I could not have asked for a better experience as a college student at Drake. Drake helped me grow as a person and as a student."
