DRAKE SYMPHONY TO PRESENT YOUNG ARTISTS CONCERT

The Drake Symphony Orchestra, conducted by John Canarina, will perform its annual Young Artists Concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 25th Street and University Avenue.

Six outstanding student musicians will be featured: conductor Christopher Huls of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; horn player Kimberly Seiberling of Carlisle, Iowa; cellist Megan Petersen of Charles City, Iowa; baritone Thomas McCargar of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; saxophonist Matthew Gunsaulus of Newton, Iowa; and soprano Shauna Peyton of Duluth, Minn.

The varied program will include music by Sibelius, Mozart, Fauré, Gounod, Villa-Lobos, Catalani, Johann Strauss and Massenet.
