DRAKE PHARMACY PROFESSOR TO BE HONORED BY AMERICAN PHARMACISTS ASSOCATION
APRIL 3
The APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science recently selected Lon
Larson, Drake University professor of pharmacy, as a 2005 fellow of the American
Pharmacists Association. The designation of fellow honors Academy members who
have a minimum of 10 years of exemplary professional experience and who have
rendered outstanding service to the profession through activities in APhA and
other organizations.
Larson is the Windsor professor of pharmacy administration at Drake. Larson
will be honored on Sunday, April 3, during the Second General Session of the
2005 American Pharmacists Association meeting in Orlando, Fla.
“I am thrilled to be recognized by my profession in this way,” Larson
said. “I am very thankful that I have been able to make contributions
that are deemed significant by members of my profession. I see the fellowship
as not only a reward for past performance, but also as a challenge for future
efforts”
The designation of fellow is honorary and fellows are invited to “think
tank” sessions to discuss the future of the profession.
“For those who know Lon and his commitment to the profession, this honor
is certainly well-deserved,” said Raylene Rospond, professor and dean
of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
