DRAKE PRESIDENT ELECTED TO POST ON BUSINESS-EDUCATION FORUM
Drake University President David Maxwell was elected to a two-year term on the executive committee of Business-Higher Education Forum.
The Business-Higher Education Forum is a non-profit membership organization of chief executives from American businesses, colleges and universities, museums and foundations. The members comprise roughly 35 corporate CEOs and an equal number of university presidents along with other organizational leaders.
“Drake University's participation in the forum is of significant value to us as a constant source of new perspectives and new ideas,” Maxwell said. “At the same time, it enables us to make a contribution on the national level as part of a collective voice on issues of vital national importance.”
The purpose of the forum is to join together to examine issues of national importance and, when appropriate, to speak with one voice by issuing reports, white papers and policy positions. The forum sponsors roundtable discussions with elected public officials, representatives from both the corporate and the academic communities and with the general public.
Founded in 1978, the forum was hosted by the American Council on Education until it became an independent organization in September 2004.
