CHARACTER COUNTS! OFFERS TRAINING IN CRESTON

The Institute for Character Development at Drake University and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are pleased to announce that a CHARACTER COUNTS! class will be held in Creston on July 14-15, 2005. This training will be offered at no cost to the participant due to financial contributions from Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.

“Making An Impact: A Framework for Character Development” is aimed at giving participants the tools they need to start a CHARACTER COUNTS! initiative in their school or community. This two-day class will be held at Southwest Iowa Community College in Creston. Additionally, through a partnership with Area Education Agency 14 in Creston, 1 hour of staff development credit or 1 hour of Drake graduate credit is available for this course.

CHARACTER COUNTS! is a process of teaching, encouraging, advocating and modeling six universal ethical values, the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

To register for this class, or to learn more, please visit our website at www.iowacharacter.org or contact Education Director, Bambi Wagner at 515-271-1995.
