DRAKE WRITERS AND CRITICS SERIES KICKS OFF FALL SEASON
The Drake Writers and Critics Series will open the fall season at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, with a lecture by Dale Bauer, professor of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, titled "Sex Expression and American Women Writers." The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Cowles Library Reading Room, 28th Street and University Avenue.
Bauer specializes in 19th and 20th century American literature and gender studies. She is the author of numerous articles, including "The Other 'F' Word: the Feminist in the Classroom." Her books include "The Cambridge Companion to Nineteenth-Century American Women's Writing" and “Feminist Dialogics."
