Curricular Mapping (Align goals with courses)

A process that programs typically use to examine alignment between learning goals and courses is curriculum mapping. A curricular map tells where in the curriculum, and to what degree, students have an opportunity to obtain the knowledge and skills associated with each learning goal. For academic programs, every course should contribute to at least one learning outcome. Departments may also use this process to assess the developmental-appropriateness of the curriculum sequence.
