FRIDAY, JANUARY 21

  • Drake University College Republicans will sponsor a speech by Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Orrin Hatch, Olmsted Center, room 123, 4-5 p.m.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 23

  • "Meet the Press with Tim Russert" will be broadcast live from Levitt Hall in Old Main, 8-9 a.m. on NBC.
  • Informational meeting about the China Study Seminar, Olmsted Center, TMR 131, 5 p.m.
  • Faculty Recital: Cellist Julie McGinnis and pianist Chiu-Ling Lin will perform with guest artists Jean Sladino, soprano, and violinist Laura McGinnis at 3 p.m. on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium.
  • Opening reception for "Swedish Textiles: The Ericson Collection" in the Anderson Gallery in the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 2-4 p.m.

MONDAY, JANUARY 24

  • Iowa Republican Party will report results of the Iowa caucuses at the Drake Knapp Center.
  • African American History Month: Coalition of Black Students Campuswide Meeting, Bulldog Theater, Olmsted Center, 9 p.m.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 25

  • The Rev. Terrence Dempsey, S.J., founder and director of the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art at St. Louis University, will give a lecture in Bulldog Theater, Olmsted Center, 7:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26

  • The Drake Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Kickoff Event, Bulldog Theater, Olmsted Center, 5 p.m.

  • Lawrence C. and Delores M. Weaver Medal of Honor Lecture by C. Boyd Granberg, dean emeritus of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Levitt Hall, 3:30 p.m.
  • Soprano Leanne Freeman-Miller and pianist Michelle Havlik-Jergens will join trumpeter Andrew Classen and violinists Misha Rosenker and Alice Vermeer in a recital at 8 p.m. on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3

  • African American History Month: "My Sistah Myself and Strictly for the Brothers," a dialogue between men and women, Morehouse Living Room, 7 p.m.
