Robert Craig, associate professor of art and design, has been included in "Navy Pier Walk 2003," an outdoor sculpture exhibition in Chicago. Approximately 30 sculptures by national and international artists were selected by David Pagel, an acclaimed Los Angeles critic and curator. The exhibition opens May 7 and closes Oct. 19.
Phillip Chen, associate professor of art and design, has been included in "New Prints" at the International Print Center New York. Seventy works from a pool of 1,000 were selected by a jury that included Joseph Goddu, director, Hirschl and Adler Gallery and Laura Stewart Heon, curator, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition opens May 7 and remains on view through June 11.
C. Kenneth Meyer, the Thomas F. Sheehan distinguished professor of public administration, Rahul Parsa, professor of statistics, and Jeff Geerts, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, presented a research paper on "An Empirical Examination of Medical Waste Policy Regulations and Practices: The Case of Iowa," at the Tenth Annual Meeting of the American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences, Las Vegas, Feb. 20-24. Also at that meeting, Meyer and Raymond Hubbard, the Thomas F. Sheehan distinguished professor of marketing, presented a research paper titled "Common Misinterpretations of the Outcomes of Statistical Significance Tests in Marketing and Public Administration Research."
Robert Hariman, the Ellis and Nelle Levitt professor of rhetoric, is the editor of a book published this month by Pennsylvania State University Press titled Prudence: Classical Virtue, Postmodern Practice. He and his co-author, John Lucaites of Indiana University, gave the keynote address at the recent conference on Visual Communication: Rhetorics and Technologies held at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y.
