Mark Vitha, assistant professor of chemistry, is co-author of an article published in the Journal of Liquid Chromatography and Related Technologies. The article is titled "Linear Solvation Energy Relationship of Retention in Micellar Liquid Chromatography on a C18 Column Using Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate and Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide Mobile Phases with Alcohol Modifiers." His co-authors are M.A. Garcia and M.L. Marina of the Universidad de Alcala de Henares, Madrid, Spain.

R. Dean Wright, professor of sociology, spoke at the Illinois Sociological Association meeting in Bloom-ington, Ill., last fall on "Tramp Training: Constructing a Service Learning Program in Homeless Intervention."
Bruce Horner, associate professor of English, has published his essay "Politics, Pedagogy, and the Profession of Composition: Confronting Commodification and the Contingencies of Power" in the Winter 2000 issue of JAC: A Journal of Composition Theory. He also has published his book, Terms of Work for Composition: A Materialist Critique, with the State University of New York Press.
For the second year in a row, Jim Albert, professor of law, was named the Leland Forrest Outstanding Professor, as voted on by the third-year law students. The award was presented at the Law School's annual Supreme Court Celebration banquet in March.
John G. Wermert, assistant professor of accounting, recently presented a paper at the annual meeting of the North American Accounting Society in Chicago. The title of the paper is, "An Empirical Examination of Audit Report Lag Using Client and Audit Firm Cycle Times." The co-authors of the paper are Jim Dodd, associate professor of accounting at Drake, and Tom Doucet of California State University, Bakersfield.
