Mary Edrington,
assistant dean and internship coordinator of the College of Business and Public
Administration, participated in the Mid-Atlantic Regional meeting of the American
Accounting Association on April 11 in Philadelphia. She was a member of the plenary
panel discussion on "The Academic Implications of Corporate Fraud Disclosures."
Robert Hariman,
the Ellis and Nelle Levitt professor of rhetoric, has an article published in
the current issue of Critical Studies in Media Communication. The article,
written with co-author John Lucaites (Indiana University), is titled "Public
Identity and Collective Memory in U.S. Iconic Photography: The Image of -Accidental
Napalm.' "
Anne Murr,
coordinator of the Drake Adult Literacy Center, recently traveled to Sturbridge,
Conn., to receive the Sharon Bulley Parks Memorial Award for Teacher of the Year
for her efforts in implementing the innovative Wilson Reading
System in an all-volunteer tutoring setting. She has trained more than 70 tutors
who are delivering structured, research-based reading instruction. A scholarship
for further training accompanied the award.
