David Wellman, visiting assistant professor of religion, is the author of Sustainable Diplomacy: Ecology, Religion and Ethics in Muslim-
Christian Relations, which has been published by Palgrave MacMillan.

John Hicks, professor emeritus of art, was the keynote speaker May 15 at the Webster County-Fort Dodge Art Expo 2004. His topic was "The Importance of Being Creative in Today's Economy."
Angela Battle, assistant professor of art, has a solo exhibition of new beeswax paintings that opened May 1 at the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The show will continue through August.
Casey Gradischnig, associate director of marketing and communications, has an exhibition of new works titled "Body Parts" on display through July 1 at AbsoluteArt, 505 E. Locust St.
Stuart Shulman, assistant professor of environmental science and policy, recently played a leadership role in a series of workshops on eRulemaking hosted by the School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University. The workshops were designed to solicit input from various end-user communities with a stake in the development of the federal eRulemaking Initiative. Shulman has been conducting grant-funded research on eRulemaking and digital government.
Paul Joslin, professor emeritus of science education, has an article titled "Science Meets the UFO Enigma" published in the spring issue of The Torch, journal of the International Association of Torch Clubs Inc.
Jack Gerlovich, professor of science education, will serve as symposium coordinator for Safety in Academic Science Labs at the 18th International Biennial Conference on Chemical Education at Iowa State University in July. He also will present the National Science Safety Indexing Project at that time.
Anne Murr, coordinator of the Drake Adult Literacy Center, has received a $10,000 grant to help support the center from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. She also is the author of an article, "Science Informs Our Work, recently published in The Literacy Practitioner.
