• Drake volunteers will be helping all weekend at the Des Moines Arts Festival on the bridges in downtown Des Moines.

• Drake Mini-Golf Master's Classic, Olmsted Center, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Drake Neighborhood Farmers' Market, parking lot of First Christian Church, 25th Street and University Avenue, 4 to 7 p.m. Free ice cream will be provided by Anderson Erickson Dairy.

FRIDAY, JULY 2

• Four-week and five-week terms end.
• Stargazing and public presentation on "Specific Tasks Taken Up by the Amateur Astronomer," Drake Municipal Observatory, Waveland Park, 8 p.m.

SATURDAY, JULY 3

• Jazz in July Concert at Drake featuring the Java Jews at 5:30 p.m. and Thelonious Assault at 7:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the Harmon Fine Arts Center.

MONDAY, JULY 5

• Independence Day observance (classes do not meet).

TUESDAY, JULY 6

• Beginning of the second four-week term and the second five-week term.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 7

• Drake Neighborhood Farmers' Market, parking lot of First Christian Church, 4 to 7 p.m.

FRIDAY, JULY 9

• Stargazing and public presentation on "Significant Discoveries by the Amateur: Comets, Novae, Double Stars," Drake Municipal Observatory, Waveland Park, 8 p.m. This will be the final presentation of the summer.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 14
