4 to 7 p.m. The Hawkeye Elks Drum and Drill Team will perform at 6:50 p.m.
- Jazz in July concert featuring
Thelonious Assault, courtyard of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 6 p.m. The band
draws inspiration from jazz legend Thelonious Monk.
FRIDAY, JULY 11
- Stargazing: Presentation on
"Urban Myths of Gravity," Drake Municipal Observatory, Waveland Park,
8:30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 16
- Ice Cream Social sponsored
by Student Life, Hubbell South, 2 to 3 p.m., 50 cents.
- Free Wells Blue Bunny products
will be served at the Annual Ice Cream Party at the Drake Neighborhood Farmers'
Market, parking lot of First Christian Church, 25th Street and University Avenue,
4 to 7 p.m. Louie the Lightning Bug, a mascot for MidAmerican Energy Co.'s "Energy
for Education" program, will be there to share information about electrical
safety.
FRIDAY, JULY 18
- Stargazing: Presentation on
"Urban Myths of Venus and Mars," Drake Municipal Observatory, Waveland
Park, 8:30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 23
- Drake alumni and friends participating
in RAGBRAI will be invited to "take a break with Drake" about five miles
west of Melcher, all day.
- Drake Neighborhood Farmers'
Market, parking lot of First Christian Church, 25th Street and University Avenue,
4 to 7 p.m. The market will feature the Safe Kids Fingerprinting Program as well
as "Salad-on-a- Stick," a new product with yogurt dip developed by the
American Dairy Association/National Dairy Council and the National Cancer Institute.
FRIDAY, JULY 25
- Law term ends.
- Stargazing: Presentation titled
"Did We REALLY Go to the Moon?" Drake Municipal Observatory, Waveland
Park, 8:30 p.m.
