, associate professor of sociology, and Thomas Swiss, professor of English, have edited and contributed to a collection of essays just published by Routledge, The World Wide Web and Contemporary Cultural Theory.

Desmond Bragg, professor emeritus of education, and Paul Joslin, professor emeritus of education, are co-authors of a new book titled Science Meets the UFO Enigma. The book, published by Kroshka Books, advocates a scientific study of reports of sightings of UFOs.

W. Scott Wood, professor of psychology, presented a paper at the 108th annual convention of the American Psychological Association on Aug. 5 in Washington, D.C. The paper, titled "Academic Aptitude and Performance in a PSI Course," was written with two Drake undergraduate students as co-authors: Corinne Arneal, a senior biology major from North Bend, Neb.; and Adrienne McFarland, a junior biology major from Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Bob Cooper, the Employers Mutual distinguished professor of insurance, presented a paper written with co-author Garry Frank, professor of public administration, at the annual meeting of the American Risk and Insurance Association in Baltimore on Aug. 9. The paper was titled "The Ethical Environment of the U.S. Insurance Industry."

James L. Dodd, associate professor of accounting, recently had an article published in the August issue of National Public Accountant. The article, written with co-author Mark A. Turner, is titled "Is Benchmarking Appropriate for Small Businesses?"

Eunice M. Merideth, professor of teaching and learning, has published a new book, titled Leadership Strategies for Teachers, with Skylight Professional Development, Allyn and Bacon.

CORRECTION

Thomas Swiss, professor of English, will be on sabbatical leave during the 2001-02 academic year, not the 2000-01 academic year as reported in the last printed issue of On Campus.
