DEADLINE LOOMS FOR CHARITABLE GIVING CAMPAIGN

Drake has a long history of community support and the tradition continues this year as the University conducts giving campaigns for United Way of Central Iowa and Iowa Shares. Both organizations are committed to improving the lives of people who work in the community and live in our neighborhoods.

Drake faculty and staff members have the opportunity to support either or both organizations by donating time as a volunteer or by giving a financial gift through payroll deduction.

United Way brings together more than 100 local health and human service providers and works to address current problems and emerging community issues. Leaders of United Way use their expertise to make sure that support goes to quality programs that achieve results.

The mission of Iowa Shares is to provide financial and other assistance to its member organizations -- 18 social action and environmental nonprofit groups working to create social change and community improvement throughout Iowa.

Pledge forms have been distributed and should be returned as soon as possible to the designated person in your department or Dolph Pulliam in institutional advancement. For more information about United Way, contact Pulliam at x3084. Additional information about Iowa Shares is available from Denise Fasse-Beasley at x2905.
