Positioning Yourself for Success at Drake University

Arrival at Drake:

For International Students: Please plan to arrive in Des Moines between on or before January 22nd. For more information on your arrival process, visit the International Center webpage.

For other students living on campus: You may move into your residence hall beginning January 24th at 12:00pm. Room and roommate assignments will be sent to your Drake email after January 3rd. For information on residence halls, including important dates and items to bring, visit the Residence Life webpage.

Meals: Student meal plans will begin on Saturday, January 24th. Hubbell Dining Hall will be open for lunch and dinner on January 25th.

                                             Reality and Strategy Meeting                                                                                                                                           

                                                    Students meet with academic representatives in their college or school to increase knowledge on academic policies and procedures, partner with faculty, staff, and peers, and discuss professional and personal goals.                         

 

                                             Navigating Your New Environment: Online Resources

Each student will access and navigate online resources with the guidance of a Peer Mentor. Students will view blueView, student account tab; Blackboard; Career Blueprint, Information Technology; and other key online resources.

This interactive discussion will allow students ask questions to a panel of diverse staff and current students to gain more information.

                                            Students will be assisted in taking their student ID photo then will depart for a campus tour led by Peer Mentors.
