The Community Engagement and Service-Learning Office coordinates efforts to involve Drake students in meaningful community engagement and service-based learning opportunities.
The office can provide resources, logistical support, and literature for faculty and staff interested in organizing and taking part in service-learning opportunities. Service-Learning Mini Grants of $250 are available to support faculty, staff, and students in creating service-learning experiences by underwriting the costs of supplies, group transportations, and other logistical needs. The Ron and Jane Olson Global Service-Learning Faculty Fellowships are designed to support faculty and staff in creating and exploring global service-learning experiences at home or abroad by providing course-development awards and funding for site exploration; the amount awarded depends on location and duration of exploration.
Service-Learning Mini Grants applications are accepted on a rolling basis; review time is about two weeks.
