Women’s and Gender Studies

Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) at Drake University is an interdisciplinary concentration, which emphasizes the study of the totality of women's experiences, with attention to the social construction of gender along with other categories of analysis including race, class, and sexuality.

Funding is available to support student activism and speakers related to gender and feminism. WGS also supports faculty development with the purchase of relevant materials, such as films and books.

The Comparison Project will present the third event in its 2016–2017 series on death and dying. A community interfaith dialogue on Oct. 27 will feature representatives of three different refugee religions in Des Moines.
