P1 Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences

Pharmacy Distribution
Students will participate in medication distribution activities, spending a minimum of 40 hours in a practice environment, such as a community or hospital pharmacy. Students will apply established processes, standards and best practices related to safe medication use and distribution systems. 

Geriatric Service Learning
Students spend a minimum of 20 hours developing a relationship with a patient in a long term care or elder care facility.  The experience is directed at developing professionalism, empathy, caring and communication through the development of a personal relationship between the student and an elderly individual.‌
