ARTICLE X
POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE PRESIDENTOF THE UNIVERSITY

Section 1
– The President of the University shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the University and the official adviser to and executive agent of the Board. The President shall, as educational and administrative head of the University, bring such matters to the attention of the Board as are appropriate to keep the Board fully informed in meeting its responsibilities. Furthermore, the President shall have power, on behalf of the Board, to perform all acts and execute all documents to make effective the actions of the Board or the Executive Committee.

Section 2 – The President shall appoint Vice Presidents, Deans, and administrative officers responsible for the operation of the University and the conduct of academic programs, student life programs, business and financial affairs, and institutional advancement programs.

Section 3 – The President shall appoint a Treasurer of the University and a Secretary of the University.

Section 4 – The President may establish experimental programs, centers, and institutes with the approval of the Board. Curricular revision shall be within the discretion of the college or school faculty concerned, with the approval of the President.

Section 5 – In case of the absence, disability, or death of the President, the duties of that office shall be temporarily performed by the Provost unless otherwise determined by the Board.
