Michi Matsukura. Ph.D.  Assistant Professor.  B.A., M.S. from University of Oregon, Ph.D. from University of Iowa: Cognition and Perception (Vision).  Postdoctoral research at University of Edinburgh (U.K.) and University of Iowa.

Dr. Matsukura teaches courses in Cognitive Psychology, Sensation and Perception, and Learning and Memory.  The goal of her research program is to understand why visual perception and memory are so flexible by investigating how attention (i.e., mechanisms to select and process a set of inputs) benefits these mental processes.  She primarily uses psychophysics and gaze-contingent eye-tracking methods to pursue such a question.

The Drake University 2018 Engaged Citizen Conference, “Nourishing (Feeding) the World,” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22, and Friday,  Feb. 23 in Drake’s Olmsted Center. Admission is free.
