The Iowa CHARACTER COUNTS! Evaluation Tool (ICCET) is a 50 question self-assessment tool designed to help schools reflect on current practices in order to evaluate their efforts in implementing CHARACTER COUNTS!

After completing the survey you will receive a confidential report that details the level of your school’s implementation.  The report will be based on a research-based rubric designed by the Research Institute for Studies in Education at Iowa State University.

If your building has a CHARACTER COUNTS! leadership team, please complete the self-assessment using a consensus processes.  If your building does not have a CC! leadership team, the survey should be completed by the building administrator and one or more staff members who are knowledgeable about your CC! inititative.

The assessment is multiple choice and you don’t have to finish it in one sitting.  You can to save your progress and finish it at another time.

Sample assessment questions:

  • Is formal CHARACTER COUNTS! training in place for new staff members?
  • How often are the majority of students recognized?
  • Is CHARACTER COUNTS! included in one of the school improvement (CSIP) goals?
