AnswersHow far in advance should I contact Drake Real Estate? Please contact our office 30-45 days prior to your anticipated move in date to review any available properties.
When do you show apartments/houses? We will show vacant houses and apartments during our office hours.
No pets are allowed in any Drake Real Estate properties.
How much is the deposit and when do I have to pay it? The deposit is equal to one month rent; additionally, at the time that the lease is signed, the first month rent is due. The deposit will be refunded to you when you move out, provided that no damages have been done to the property, you have fulfilled your six month lease, proper notice is given and all University charges have been paid.
What is the length of a lease? Our leases are for six months, and month-to-month thereafter.
Can I paint my apartment a different color? We do not generally allow any type of alteration of the premise.
All rent is due on or before the first day of the month. Rent can be paid with a money order or personal check through the mail, dropped off at our office, or the Student Accounts office. Cash payments can be made at the Student Accounts Office. Rent is considered late after the 5th day of any month.
I need to move. How do I give notice? The 30-day notice to vacate must be given in writing, and must contain your name and address, and the date that you will be completely moved out. You may come to our office and complete a form, or download the form from this website. | ![]() |
