Downtown Street Painting

DSPStreet painting on the Drake campus has long served as the unofficial kickoff to festivities surrounding the Drake Relays. To celebrate and expand upon this tradition, Drake partners with the City of Des Moines and Court Avenue District to bring this festive event to the downtown area.  Downtown Street Painting allows business, nonprofit and community organizations to celebrate the Drake Relays and participate in this historic tradition.

Participation in the Downtown Street Painting event allows businesses and non-profits to promote their organization and share their connections with Drake and Des Moines. Sqaures remain painted and areviewed by the thousands who enjoy the activities that take place on Court Avenue throughout the year.

Downtown Street Painting offers:

  • Community exposure—share your logo, website, etc.

  • A team-building project

  • An easy and affordable way to show support for the community
