Organizations and media outlets have been giving a lot of attention to Drake University and the capital city we call home.

Drake University:

“Alumni earnings above expectation”
—The Economist, 2015
-The Economist ranked Drake University 17th nationally for return on investment—alumni earnings that are above expectation, in the 98h percentile of all four-year, non-vocational American colleges.

“Alumni with 32% higher mid-career earnings”
—The Brookings Institution
-A report by the nonprofit Brookings Institution found that Drake University adds more than 32 percent to the projected mid-career earnings of demographically similar graduates from institutions with similar characteristics. That figure placed Drake in the 97th percentile nationwide among four-year colleges and universities for value added to mid-career earnings.

“One of the top three in the Midwest”
U.S. News & World Report, 2015 -Drake earned the No. 3 spot on the 2016 U.S. News & World Report rankings in the category of best Midwestern master’s institutions. The University has consistently earned a spot in the top five for more than 10 years. 

Drake’s Peer Assessment was 3.8 in 2015, which places Drake as tied for the 12th rank of more than 620 master’s granting institutions nationally.

Forbes magazine ranked Drake University at number 145 on their 2015 list of America's Top Colleges; No. 25 in the Midwest and No. 116 among private colleges.

“A best college value”
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, 2015 - Kiplinger’s ranked Drake among the top 40 best values in private education in the country, comparing cost/financial aid with academic quality.

“A great school at a great price” 
U.S.News & World Report, 2015 - Drake was named 10th best in the Midwest on U.S. News & World Report’s “Great Schools, Great Prices” ranking.

“A top producer of Fulbright scholars” 
—Fulbright U.S. Student Program, 2016 -Drake has produced many student Fulbright scholars in the past decade—more than 22 since 2004—and was named a “top producing” university among master’s-granting institutions in 2015–2016.

The Princeton Review - The Princeton Review consistently names Drake one of the “Best in the Midwest” for its academically outstanding undergraduate programs.

National Journal, 2014 -The National Journal hails Des Moines as "the real place to be" for millennials due to its blossoming culture scene, thriving start-ups, urban beauty, and status as the tech hub of Silicon Prairie.

The Washington Post -Some of the top 12 reasons why “Iowa rules” include: It’s the single best place in the country for politics; the Iowa State Fair; The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI); friendliness; economic mobility; and amazing breakfasts. 

“The wealthiest city in the U.S.”
—The NBC TODAY Show, 2014 - NBC News’ popular morning television show lauded Des Moines as the wealthiest city in the U.S. because of its low cost of living (almost 10 percent below the national average) coupled with plentiful opportunities, professionally and personally.
