Diversity and Inclusion Reading Group

English faculty member Jennifer Perrine used Slay funds to purchase materials and facilitate for a faculty and staff reading group focused on issues of diversity and inclusion in higher education.  The group read and discussed the book Presumed Incompetent

As Jeanette Tran, a faculty member in the group put it, "Participating in Jennifer Perrine’s Diversity and Inclusion Reading Group was instrumental in helping me feel more connected to other compassionate and engaged faculty at Drake, and in helping to normalize some of the challenges I experienced as a first-year faculty member of color on Drake’s campus. I’m grateful to the Slay Fund for making the group possible.”
