Olmsted Center Information

The Olmsted Center is a hub of student activity at Drake. From early morning studying to late-night programming, the building is always busy during the semester.  The Olmsted Center offers recreational facilities, a coffee-shop, event spaces, study areas, and also houses many university departments.

About the Olmsted Center

In October 1974 the Olmsted Center was named in honor of General George H. Olmsted in recognition of his leadership as a trustee and his continuted interest and his generous support of the development of Drake University.

When Drake senior Reed Fischer crossed the finish line at the Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee on Thursday, he broke a school record that has stood since long before Drake’s famed Blue Oval was blue.
