Exchange Programs

An ideal way to study abroad for students who want to experience the college life in another country.

Drake has signed agreements with international partner institutions where Drake students can attend partner institutions, while a student from their institution can come study at Drake.

Most of our exchange programs are for a semester abroad, but there are J-term and summer options as well. Exchange programs are the most independent type of study abroad program, and often led to the deepest level of integration into the local community out of all the program types. Drake students are usually in the classroom with students from the local host country. If English is not an official language of the country you are studying in, we also recommend having some background in the local language before departing.

Drake students pay Drake tuition and fees to participate in an exchange program, and can use their financial aid while abroad. Since students from the institution you attend can also study at Drake, sometimes the friends you make overseas can then come “visit” you for a semester while studying abroad at Drake.
