Auditions were held on Saturday August 24th at 9:00 a.m. No further auditions will be held until Fall 2014.

Departmental Meeting for Anyone interested in being a part of theatre

Auditions start at 10:30 a.m.

Auditions are timed

  • If only auditioning for Sweeney Todd: 1 minute Sondheim song (only an option for minors or non-majors only) 
  • If auditioning for Sweeney Todd and the plays: 2 minutes total for Sondheim song and 2 contrasting monologues (REQUIRED for BFA Musical Theatre Majors and any BFA Performance Major that is also a MT Minor) 
  • Auditioning for plays only: 90 seconds for 2 contrasting monologues (REQUIRED for BFA Acting and Directing Majors and available for non-majors as well) 

Pick material that is right for the shows and characters you are interested in. Do not perform a song or monologue from the shows.

To audition for the Drake Theatre 2013-2014 Productions, please email Professor Kash for an audition time slot prior to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24.

Callbacks:

Saturday August 24th 
4:00-7:00 p.m. callbacks for If We Were Birds
7:00-10:00 p.m. callbacks for Italian American Reconciliation

Sunday August 25th
12:00- 3:00 p.m. Streetcar Named Desire
4:00- 9:00 p.m. Sweeney Todd Callbacks (ALL first year Musical Theatre Majors and Minors are REQUIRED to observe the callbacks).

Monday August 26th
4:00- 7:00- callbacks for All New People
7:00-10:00- callbacks for Extremities

Tuesday August 27th
Faculty will meet to cast the shows and BIRDS will start rehearsal that night.

‌PLEASE NOTE: everyone must make themselves available for rehearsal for If We Were Birds that will start on the evening of Tuesday August 27th. That means if you have a job in the evenings, on or off campus, you cannot work in the evenings that week in case you are cast in BIRDS.

ALSO NOTE: if you are auditioning, regardless if you are a BFA Theatre Performance Major or not, you MUST accept any role you are cast in. If you are not willing to do this, then please do not audition.‌
