Come to this seminar to learn how to make your holidays more meaningful and memorable and focus on what really matters most - to YOU! This seminar will include self-reflection and will be thought provoking. You have the power to make your holidays a time of year worth remembering.
Monthly Motivator - Stay on track with your wellness initiatives with this new program taht focuses on a topic a month. Sign up for 1 month or all 4. After the month is over, you will turn in your completed materials for a prize. Everyone that participates will receive an inforamtion sheet along with a tracking sheet to record your monthly challenge. Please contact Jana Peterson for more details or to sign up. The Next Step Challenge - This program is part of the Live Healthy Iowa Program. The Next Step Challenge is a team challenge and you will track your number of steps taken each day online. You will be competing against other Iowans in teams of 2 - 10 people. The program runs from September 8 - October 17 and costs $10. To regsiter visit the Live Healthy Iowa website, click on JOIN TODAY and enter the assigned ID: LHIDRAKE in the Corporate/Group ID box. Complete all the required fields and submit. This is How We Roll - Foam rolling is a technique of self-myofascial release (SMR) to help relax muscles. Muscles develop tightness and knots due to prolonged sitting, exercise and general tension and stress build-up. During this workshop you will learn how to use a foam roller to reduce aches and pains, increase mobility and flexibility, and increase recovery of muscles. This workshop will be hands on and you will try some of the exercises. We strongly advise you to wear comfortable clothing to this workshop. To register email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Healthiest State Walk - Over the past four years, hundreds of thousands of Iowans have taken great steps toward building a healthier Iowa by participating in the annual Healthiest State Walks. Thanks to enthusiastic participation across the state, we've climbed from the 19th healthiest state to the top 10 in just three years! State leaders, along with Drake Wellness, are once again calling upon Iowans to walk in October in support of the Healthiest State Initiative. Participate in the fourth annual Healthiest State Walk on October 8! Commit to walking 1k (about 12 minutes) with colleagues and students at the Drake University walk. The walk will start at 12:15 at the East entrance to the Olmsted Center. If you can't join us at that time - do something active that day and let us know about it! The first 100 people in attendance will receive a goodie bag including a t-shirt. Register to be part of team today!
Walk Through History - Do you love walking and want to learn more about our beautiful campus? Do you already know a lot about our campus but need an excuse to cut loose from your desk for 90 minutes? Are you interested in meeting new people on campus? Do you have a competitive streak you can't wait to unleash? Surely you answered yes to at least one of those questions! If so, please join Drake Wellness for a fun, geo-caching style walk on Tuesday, October 13 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. This walk will be done in teams of at least three and no more than five individuals. You may assemble your own team or if you'd prefer, we can place you on a team.
