Study Abroad

Studying or pursuing other activities abroad can offer you a variety of opportunities to develop your linguistic competence and cultural understanding in a culture other than your own.

Many students have reported that the experience abroad was life altering and provided them with invaluable perspectives on global issues, life-long friends, and valuable contacts for future employment or study. Students not only become more familiar with the language and culture of their host location but they also gain more insight into their own language and culture.

Drake offers many excellent opportunities for study abroad. In recent years, Drake students have traveled to Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, and Spain. The World Languages and Cultures faculty and the staff of the International Center are happy to help you plan your study abroad experience.
