You’ve served your country with honor. Drake thanks you, and honors your service with unique programs and opportunities to give your education a boost.
Drake ranked third in the Midwest region on U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 list of best colleges for veterans, based on its benefits and federal initiatives to help veterans and active-duty service members pay for their degrees.
Drake is proud to be recognized by the State of Iowa as a member of the Home Base Iowa Certified Higher Academic Military Partner (CHAMPs) program, dedicated to providing veterans with assistance transitioning to higher education, access to on-campus support resources, and scholarships or other veterans benefits for student-veterans and their families.
Drake’s participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program makes its outstanding, global, education available at significant cost reduction (up to 100%) for qualified veterans.
Each of Drake’s programs of study (undergraduate, graduate, pharmacy, and law) are approved for the enrollment of veterans, reservists, and other students eligible for VA or military education benefits. Additionally, the University is committed to easing the transfer of relevant course credits, providing flexible academic residency requirements, and crediting learning from appropriate military training and work experiences.
Students who intend to receive VA education benefits should contact the Veterans’ Certification Officer (VCO). Currently, Nancy Geiger (515-271-3095; firstname.lastname@example.org) serves in that position at Drake University.
Students who have completed coursework at another college or university, are considered transfer students and should follow the transfer application process, while students with no prior college or university coursework should follow the first-year application process. If you have questions about which application path to follow, contact email@example.com or 515-271-3181 for assistance.
