Vetting Volunteers

Minors on Campus Event Sample Steps for Vetting Volunteers and Other Key Roles:

1.   Create brief Volunteer Job Description Sample Template for the various volunteer roles

2.   Event volunteer completes the a Volunteer application and release.

2.   Program Leader Screens Volunteers by:

a.  Running background checks on those working with minors and matching it to predetermined hiring criteria.  Drake Human Resources may be a resource for this type of check.

b.   Program leader contacts applicant references to confirm applicant's experience and references meet the event volunteer job description requirements.

d.  If yes, then Program Leader may offer the applicant the role of event volunteer; the applicant may need to complete additional paperwork as pertains to the position.
