Douglas (Doug) J. Bujakowski, Ph.D., ASA

Sammons Professor and Chair of Actuarial Science and Risk Management

Dr. Douglas Bujakowski is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the School of Actuarial Science and Risk Management. He is also recognized as the Sammons Professor of Actuarial Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Risk and Insurance from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.

Dr. Bujakowski's research portfolio encompasses various areas within the actuarial field. His expertise lies in insurance market development, law and economics, and the application of longitudinal and spatial modeling techniques. Professor Bujakowski has published numerous papers in reputable journals, including the North American Actuarial Journal, the Geneva Risk and Insurance Review, the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy, the Risk Management and Insurance Review, and the Pacific Basin Law Journal, among others. He teaches undergraduate courses in mathematical statistics and business statistics and a graduate course in operational risk management.
