The Robb B. Kelley Visiting Distinguished Assistant Professor of Actuarial Science and Risk Management
Kwangmin Jung completed his Ph.D. (magna cum laude) in finance with a research focus on risk management and insurance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He also holds an MSc in automotive management from EBS Business School in Germany, an MSc in quantitative finance (Distinction) from Cass Business School in London, and a BA in applied statistics (Honors) from Yonsei University in South Korea. His research interests stay in the intersection of actuarial science, risk management and insurance with emphases in risk modeling (cyber/tech risk and extreme risk), risk aggregation, insurance economics, and insurance regulation. His research has earned him several prestigious awards and recognitions, including the 2018 SCOR Actuarial Prize in Asia-Pacific and the AFIR-ERM Section of the IAA (International Actuarial Association) Research Paper Prize 2019.
